About Us
Summary
Founded in 2009, The My Brother - My Sister Foundation is a nonprofit organization created to Educate, Encourage and Empower teens and young adults that have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and other mental illness to face the challenges ahead. Through scholarships, The My Brother - My Sister Foundation will provide financial support to college bound seniors with mental illness, with emphasis on bipolar disorder.

The My Brother - My Sister Foundation's also strives to educate students with mental illness on the importance of following the drug protocol designed by their doctor and the value in continued counseling and treatment. Entering college can be an overwhelming experience for the most outgoing and studious students. The My Brother - My Sister Foundation's goal is to make this transition a little easier for the students and the families of students struggling with mental illnes. While college is not for everyone, the foundation will also reach out to young adults that are ready to enter the workforce and branch out on their own.

The My Brother - My Sister Foundation is dedicated to positively impacting the lives of the youth plagued with mental illness that have made the decision to conquer this illness and become a contributing member of society.

To Educate, Encourage and Empower teens and young adults diagnosed with a mental illness to pursue their dreams of living an independent and fruitful life through education and scholarships.

The My Brother - My Sister Foundation's vision is that the teens and young adults suffering from mental illness conquer the stigma of mental illness and live fruitful and fulfilling lives.

The My Brother - My Sister Foundation is committed to providing support and resources to teens and young adults suffering from mental illness, so that they may improve their quality of life. In doing so, the foundation will embrace the following core values:

Diversity
The My Brother - My Sister Foundation recognizes that people with mental illness exist in all races, ethnicities and religions; the foundation seeks to assist as many people as our finances will allow.

Professionalism
The Board of Directors and any member representing The My Brother - My Sister Foundation will conduct business in a professional manner at all times. The foundation promotes teamwork and a diversity of thoughts to make the foundation successful.

Integrity
The My Brother - My Sister Foundation adheres to high ethical and professional standards. All members will be held accountable for their interactions with members, as well as others. The foundation will be honest and fair in all decisions made by the board.

Educate
The My Brother - My Sister Foundation champions the importance of education. The foundation strives to educate our teens and young adults on the importance of being compliant with medications and counseling.

Encourage
The My Brother - My Sister Foundation is dedicated to encouraging our teens and young adults to set personal goals and strive for them. Mental illness does not have to be a life sentence. With the proper education and support, individuals beset with mental illness can live fulfilling lives.

Empower
The My Brother - My Sister Foundation is devoted to empowering our young people with the tools necessary to succeed. Whether it be going to college, getting a job or moving out of their parents home for the first time.
